About Our Class
This class is a requirement for graduating 8th grade and moving on to high school. In this class, we will focus on improving our reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills as well as basic skills for school, such as organization and note-taking. Students will be writing every day in class as well as working on close reading skills.
In this class, students will be working on their own research projects, called their Genius Hour projects, keeping a blog for class, reading and analyzing poetry every day, and doing a lot of reading, both in class and at home. We will also be working on 21st century skills, so students will be turning things in on Google Classroom, using their phones for exit tickets, and more.

This is a great website and free app for learning vocabulary.
Evernote
This is the best organization app out there for any device that connects to the internet. It's also the app I use for my lesson plans.

This is how I keep track of behavior in class. Parents can sign up for it, too, and they can award points for schoolwork at home as well as get weekly updates on student behavior.
