Welcome to 7th Grade Computer Applications!
This course is actually called 7th Grade--Career and Life Choices 1. In this course, students will learn how to project into their future, and understand consequences of their choices made today through real-world relevance. Through this self-discovery and reflection process, students will envision their future and explore their own particular abilities, ambitions, and dreams. Students will develop financial literacy skills and prepare a personal budget reflecting desired lifestyle. They will use online information and productivity tools to produce documents, charts, and graphs demonstrating difference in salaries of career choices in their interest area with varying education requirements (e.g., no diploma, diploma, degree, etc.). Students will create an Educational Development Plan (EDP) in Career Cruising as they explore career pathways. Students will analyze the effect of personal interest and aptitude upon educational and career planning.
All assignments will be turned in on our Google Classroom website, graded there (along with comments, if needed), and returned there. Our Google Classroom code is p4bc3i1.
This course mostly consists of students having independent work time to practice and then turn in their work. Since it is mostly independent learning, all assignments may be re-done for full credit, and all assignments are due by the last Wednesday of the marking period. Students will also be keeping a self-reflective blog and an online portfolio of work on their blog, sharing it with the class and the teacher every Friday.
