I have always found late Lent to be one of the hardest times of the year. Spring is around the corner, I have so much to do to prepare for Easter, and I find myself either abandoning knitting projects or getting lured away by shinier ones.
This Lent is no different. I have been working on the Lenten Labyrinth Shawl and really enjoying it, but then a better design came to me. It’s one I will have to work on, sure, but it’s simpler and prettier, and I really like how that one looks compared to the one I’ve been knitting that’s so busy and more than a bit too much. I can’t help but like the one I’m working on, though, as it makes me happy to work on for some reason. It’s even in acrylic, not my favorite by any stretch.
Still, the shinier one beckons, as does spring cleaning and newer projects and Easter cooking and so much more. I have to remind myself to turn the corner on the labyrinth instead, keep plodding along, keep praying, and keep heading toward Easter.
